I love how you distribute detail. I'd love to see you try oil painting, hmmm. Who are these guys?
:iconhemlocked:
'Detail distribution'? Do you mean the lame way that I start things, decided to wuss out and not do the same caliber of effort on anything, and try to make it look less like I'm doing so? :P I've never touched oils... Never had the money to buy myself some. :( I saw they had bunches for like... 18 bucks or so at Michael's, but I'm still broke.

I dunno... Just two randoms. For once, nobody particularly relevant; though I do really like the sad guy.

:D Thank you! Yeah, I kind of like the hair in this one, and it really means a lot what you say about the eyes. I don't think I'm quite there yet (actually, I know I'm not), but I've really been trying to move away from cartoon-y looking eyes and try and achieve something more natural and realistic looking. It's really difficult! But I appreciate the encouragement, it really spurs me to keep on working.

You could put it that way, I suppose? XD It's a great way to create a focal point, though, and you've done exactly that with the faces. So.
:iconhemlocked:
Oh yeah, for sure; detail concentration is a definite proven art method... I was just being lame here though. :P Oh well. I'm quite pumped to draw right now. First time in what seems like decades.

Wow, that's evocative, even with just those lines there's a feeling of drama and mystery to the piece. I really like how you did the facial features as well.

Ah hey! :D Thanks for stopping by firstly --- and then; I don't know... If you think so! I've been getting kind of worried that my random invented portraits were getting boring; more imaginary half-studies than snippets of illustration... Which is half proven by what you're saying, half refuted. :D

Thanks for commenting, anyways. :P
